A Workshop to Help Sunday School and Other Church Teachers and Leaders Answer the Questions “Why is Sunday School Important?” and “Why is Serving as a Teacher in the Church and Sunday School Important?”

IMPORTANT: Before You Begin The “Preparation For Teaching” Workshop,
Please Read The Following:
The “Preparation For Teaching” online workshop is offered free of charge by the Pennsylvania State Sunday School Association to all interested persons.
The workshop has been divided into eight parts. Each of the eight parts includes text information for participants to read. Part Two also includes a video that should be watched. Each of the parts of the workshop also includes several “Questions To Think About.” Although it is not required that you actually answer these questions and you will not be asked to submit your answers to the P.S.S.S.A., we do feel that it is very important for all workshop participants to spend a few minutes thinking about each of these questions.
At the bottom of this page you will find navigation buttons that will allow you to go to any of the eight different parts of the workshop. These buttons will allow you to access the workshop at any point if you are not able to complete the workshop at one sitting.
Depending on the amount of time that you spend with the “Questions to Think About,” the workshop should take you between one and two hours to complete.
Persons who complete the entire workshop are invited to submit their information and an evaluation of the workshop to the P.S.S.S.A. by using the online form at the end of the workshop. If you wish, you can request a free “certificate of completion” as proof that you have successfully finished the workshop.
For persons planning to attend one of the P.S.S.S.A.’s selected live teacher training workshops, this online seminar is a suggested first part of the workshop. Persons who will be attending one of these workshops should complete this “Preparation For Teaching” online seminar before attending the live workshop.
One other quick note about this workshop: Throughout much of the workshop you will find us talking about “Sunday school,” however you need to realize that the principles and ideas that we are discussing apply to all teachers and leaders who work in all Christian education programs within the church, not just Sunday school.
